June Degustabox Review

It’s time for another Degustabox review!

Degustabox is a monthly subscription plan which contains 9-14 surprise food products with each box. The items are selected from name brands, will contain new flavors, and give you a new option to think about the next time you’re looking for a break in your eating routine. Find out more about Degustabox (here)

LUNDBERG FAMILY FARMS Cinnamon Sugar Red Rice & Quinoa Tortilla Chips $3.49

“Perfectly sweet and wonderfully nostalgic, our Cinnamon Sugar chips are as good as your imagination hopes they’ll be. Keep your feet on the ground and your taste buds in the sky, and most importantly enjoy every bite.”

The White Cheddar version of these came in the February box and I loved them, so I was really interested to try these.

These have a very subtle sweetness and I love the flavor of the chips themselves. I can imagine these being really nice paired with a mango salsa or any fresh fruit-based salsa.

ZOLLIPOPS $3.99 for 3oz Package

“Zollipops are sugar free, non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and kosher. Each pack comes in a convenient re-sealable pouch. Know as The After You Eat Treat, enjoy one after every meal, up to 3 per day, for cleaner, healthier smile.”

I got some of the Zaffi Taffy by the same company last month and I thought it was really fun to have a sweet candy that is good for your teeth.

While I do really like these and I think they are fun, they are definitely designed more for kids and not something I would use regularly enough to repurchase.

WALKERS Pure Vanilla Shortbread $4.49

“Walkers Vanilla shortbread is light, airy and has a crumbly texture. Made using Walker’s original shortbread recipe, perfectly complemented by real vanilla.”

I was so excited to see Walker’s shortbread in the box! I have always been a big fan of Walker’s cookies, their shortbread is simply the best, it’ melts in your mouth and its so light and buttery.

GOYA Corn Tortillas $2.29

“As popular in America as sliced bread, tortillas are enjoyed worldwide as the main ingredient in quesadillas, tacos, and burritos, or sliced and fried as tortilla chips, or used in wraps around your favorite sandwiches.”

Corn tortillas are so much better then flour ones in my opinion, we had some of these with chicken tacos the other night and they were so nice. I really like that you get thirty in the pack, that will last my family a good while.

TRUE LEMON Crystallized Lemon $4.99

“Perfect for water, tea and recipes. 0 calories, 0g sugar, and no artificial sweeteners. No artificial colors, preservatives, sodium or gluten.”

I haven’t tried this one yet but I’m really curious to see how it works. They say you can use this as a drink flavoring or you can use it in recipes and I love lemon, especially in the summer, so I can’t wait to make something with this.

“Tickle Water is a naturally flavored sparkling water created with kids in mind but enjoyed by all ages. Our lightly carbonated sparkler in a super stylish package is free form sugar, sweeteners, sodium, preservatives, and of course had zero calories.”

I drink a lot of sparkling water so it was nice to try out a different brand.

This was really nice and refreshing and I loved the watermelon flavor. It is a lightly carbonated water, which I’m assuming is because it is designed with kids in mind.

GOYA Black Beans $0.99

“Low Sodium Black beans are part of Goya’s growing line of “Better For You” products. Plump, whole, tender black beans in a can with 70% less sodium than the original.”

I haven’t used this yet, but black beans are pretty much a staple in our pantry.

GOYA SAZONADOR TOTAL The Perfect Seasoning $3.59

“Rub it on meats, poultry, and fish. Add to salads, soups, sauces, and vegetables. Enhances the natural flavors of feed with the perfect mix of natural ingredients.”

I was really excited to try this because it smells really good, but it does have MSG in it which is something we generally try to avoid.

THAT’S IT. Apple, Mango & Chili Fruit Bar $1.69

“That’s It is a snack company dedicated to simple and easy ingredients made from real fruits, veggies, and dark chocolate.”

I love the idea behind it and that it is made with such good ingredients, but honestly I wasn’t a fan of this fruit bar, the flavor was good but the texture was just slimy and made it hard for me to eat.

MUTTI Peeled Tomatoes $2.99

“Mutti peeled tomatoes have their skins removed and them they are immersed in a delicious, velvety pasta. Processing and packaging all occur within 24 hours of harvesting to preserve the authentic taste of freshly picked tomatoes.”

We used these the other night and my mom and I were both really impressed with the quality and taste of them. We needed tomato sauce for a recipe so we used half of the can and pureed them and it worked perfectly.

My favorite things this month are definitely the shortbread cookies followed closely by the Tickle Water.

  1. When I was a kid, my mom used to buy that brand of shortbread cookies all the time and it was so good with cold milk or dutch chocolate milk. For me, I was definitely excited when I saw the Goya seasoning, it’s something I never tried because I do buy Goya brand products. Thanks for sharing this, some new things I’m gonna pick up at the store next time I shop.
